All riders are asked to pay a $500 non-refundable registration fee to sign-up for the LSG Tour.
No, but... You can register without choosing a charity. But you should choose one just before you begin fundraising to help support your asks.
If you plan on self-donating, that's fine - Blue Sea Foundation will use the donation to help pay for the event and advance its vision of seeing a more generous world where charities thrive.
Visit the Register page to register online. Positions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Yes! You can sign-up for these shorter options:
Yes, of course! The LSG Tour is about supporting your effort to help charities thrive.
Yes and no. Participants are certainly welcome to invite friends and family to meet them on tour, and spend the day at rest stops and the overnight location to get a taste of the tour. But, please make arrangements with the LSG Tour leadership first.

Yes and no. The LSG Tour is a camping event, and the experience riding, camping, and enjoying that experience is what makes it great. That said, you may arrange to stay at local motels, inns, and B&Bs that you reserve on your own efforts. Of course, hotel and RV arrangements and transportation would be at your own expense.
Yes. For the safety of all participants, the LSG Tour provides a digital GPS route to use on their smartphone or bike computer. A smartphone is required for all participants on the LSG Tour.
Sign up for a free Ride with GPS account and you will have access to all the daily routes when the tour begins. These routes are interactive and provide your location, voice prompts for each turn and warnings when you stray off the route. These maps are downloadable into your phone so you do not need a cell signal to use them. When the LSG Tour makes changes to a daily route you can see it right away. Use the map of the full route to get familiar with Ride With GPS. Here is the map!
No! The LSG Tour is for people with bikes, including e-bikes. You can be an avid cyclist or a first time rider! Follow our training tips and schedule and you’ll be ready by LSG Tour time. If you have existing health conditions or have any concerns, be sure to work with your health care provider, they might want to join you!
No. It is your responsibility to arrange the transportation of your bike to and from the start or finish location.
Generally your e-bike should be able to power you 100-120 km a day on one battery. If it can't, you'll need a second battery that you can carry to replace if required.
Overnight most camp sites provides power for riders to charge their bike batteries. Also riders can use the outlets next to their shelf inside the Gear Trailer.
If you use prescription medication and are not a resident of Canada, please arrive with enough to last the duration of the tour - 70 days for the full tour, and 14 days for any stage.
If you use a prescription medication that requires refrigeration, the LSG Tour can provide a secure refrigeration unit for these items.
The LSG Tour has almost everything you'll need, including all your meals, a place to sleep, showers, transportation on tour, snacks at SAG/Rest Stops, and continuous scenery changes! However, you'll need to plan on money for your personal expenses like laundry, stops at gas stations, restaurants, grocery stores, sight-seeing, and private lodging.
Yes, definitely. Many past participants would not have considered themselves cyclists before the event - most had never cycled long distances before training, and some didn’t even own a bicycle! You can do this.
But as a reminder, e-bikes are welcome, assuming your e-bike can handle a 100-120 km ride each day on one battery (or supported by a second battery you bring with you).
Yes, anyone who is willing to travel to Canada and meet the minimum fundraising goal is welcome to register. However, we are only able to direct funds raised to qualified Canadian (or American) charities at this time. For example, if you come from Germany and love a local charity there, we unfortunately cannot forward grants outside of Canada (or the USA).
The LSG Tour books campsites along the route where as a rule - two tents are set up per campsite, with access to water and electrical at each. Each campsite selected has warm showers and bathrooms a short walk away.
SAG stands for Support and Gear. It is the support along the route provided to riders each day by our amazing team of volunteers. It consists of:
Canada, from the Pacific to Atlantic! We begin in White Rock, BC and pedal our way to Calgary. Onward to Winnipeg. Over Lake Superior to Manitoulin Island, ferry across Lake Huron to the Bruce Peninsula and ride on to Montreal. Reaching Quebec City we cross the St. Lawrence River and make our way through New Brunswick and Nova Scotia to Prince Edward Island, where we dip our tires into the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Here is the map!
Our West Stage and East Stage are two weeks long and generally run about 1500 km. Having said that, riders may cycle as little as one week, but the minimum fundraising amount still applies. You can find more details here.
Wider tires are easier to pedal, have lower rolling resistance, are more comfortable on rough roads, and less work on unpaved surfaces!
But of course if you prefer to be uncomfortable and work harder, especially on unpaved surfaces, then be our guest and feel free to ride a more narrow tire. We will gracefully support your decision!
Yes, unless you plan to bring an RV or find local lodging. You can either purchase or rent your own tent.
