Tour Leadership

Terry Barnes

Terry is our Tour Director and responsible for the day-to-day operations of the tour.

He will be on-site for every kilometre from BC to PEI. Not only does Terry have a long history of cycling himself, he has operated his own tour company and lead many large cycling tours, most notably the well-loved Sea to Sea cross-Canada/USA tours. Terry is a deeply caring leader who loves people, building community, and creating life-changing experiences. He is a Korean-born American who grew up in Florida and has lived in Grand Rapids for the past thirty years with his wife Luanne.

Brian Carney

Brian is the CEO of Blue Sea Foundation (Canada) and Blue Sea Philanthropy (USA).

He founded BSF in 2010 with a vision to see a more generous world where charities thrive. He's created multiple national P2P fundraising events with his A-team at Blue Sea, and delights in the 300+ charity partners his team coaches and encourages in pursuit of fundraising success. Brian is married to Sylvia, and they enjoy being loved up by a very childish Labradoodle named Cooper, as well as their three adult kids + partners.

Tour Team

The LSG Tour will be supported by a variety of dedicated individuals, including:

  • Bike Mechanics: An onsite bike mechanic will be available throughout the tour to support your mechanical needs.
  • Event logistics: This team of keener logistics experts will provide support each day along the route and at base camp providing shelter, water, showers, sleeping arrangements, re-supply, mail, transport, and internet access.
  • Nutrition: Your daily calorie intake matters, but not as much as how good it all tastes! Our on-site food manager will make sure you eat well and enjoy a hearty nutritious meal.
  • Safety: Your health and safety are priorities of the LSG Tour team: A tour medic watches over participants. Everyone on the team is trained in first aid and sanitation. During the day our SAG stop teams provide regular rest stops with food, water, and electrolytes, while our roving SAG teams patrol the route between stops.
Admin Team

The LSG Tour is overseen by Blue Sea Foundation and staffed by a host of experienced participant and donor support staff, promotional staff, social media personnel, and general admin service.
